Today's blog post is inspired by the good people at EW, who ask in a PopWatch item today, "What lyrics make you belt every time you hear them?"
I know that even in the most vocal-phobic among you, there is one line in one song that, if it comes on the radio or at a big, crowded wedding reception, will make you sing out as loud as your little lungs allow.
Here are mine (with the shouted lyrics, well, SHOUTED):
TIN ROOF...RUSTED! ("Love Shack")
For the Reverend Martin Luther King...SING! ("Pride")
Then, sweet little lady, I'll head back to the bar...AND YOU CAN KISS MY A..! ("Friends in Low Places", live version)
You're unbelievable...OH! (That one song. You know.)
LEONARD BERNSTEIN! and FIVE O'CLOCK TV HOUR! ("It's The End of the World As We Know It"; could it be we shout those parts because they're the only ones anybody knows?)
I know that's not all. What lyrics make you sing along in ALL CAPS?

In looking at your list, you have hit just about all of the ones that I would have chosen and for the same reasons...but, what about:
"SSSSAAAAFFFFEEEETTTTYYYY"
"WHY DO YOU DRINK? TO GET DRUNK..."
"HEY, HEY, WHAT, GET LAID, GET *"
(Oops! For a moment, I slipped back into the R-rated high school Spanish class! We would have gotten away with that if it were in Spanish, you know I'm telling the truth!)
"COME ON EILENE"
"Unbelieveable" was EMF, by the way, though I think you lose your street cred when you not only sell your song to Kraft, you actually sing "Crumbelievable" for the commercial. But I digress...
"Evenflow, thoughts arrive like butterflies." If only because those are the only intelligible lyrics in the whole damn song.
"HEAD LIKE A HOLE!" Good song for getting your anger out. In fact, most of NIN's songs are good for getting your anger out.
"Sweet Caroline! Good times never seemed so good (SO GOOD! SO GOOD! SO GOOD!)" You have to be around Red Sox fans to really appreciate this one.
And for Deb, I grudgingly admit this was a catchy damn song:
"SHOT THROUGH THE HEART! AND YOU'RE TO BLAME! YOU GIVE LOVE...A BAD NAME!"
I head song yesterday and thought of you:
"NO SLEEP TIL....BROOKLYN"
